I just received an email inviting me to examine The Bible as Poetry New Testament. It’s release date is about a month. Apparently this is a version that is trying to capture double meaning, newly discovered word meanings, and tackle in a new ways other translation issues.
Ancient middle eastern cultures often spoke in a pictorial language. This is something literal translations dampen. It will be fascinating to see what The Bible as Poetry can capture.
